Evening all,
Had my mk 7.5 gti pp for a couple of weeks now and I absolutely love it, wish I’d bought one years ago.

Hi Smudge, what spec is yours?

Morning,
Mine is a 2020 model tungsten silver metallic, 5 door gti pp and I think the alloys are named “ Milton Keynes” I think I read that somewhere. 7 speed DSG and rear camera. I’ve owned two 2ltr A3s before I bought the golf and they are great cars in their own right but the gti is on another level. I have one job to look at on the golf though, the near side skirt has a slight deformity , I think it comes off easily enough I’ll have a look when the weather improves!

Welcome Smudge

A 2020 GTI will be well worth holding on to long term, they’ll be quite sought after in years to come I reckon (subject to legislation changes).
What sort of deformity does the sill skirt have?

Welcome, I agree with Exoian’s comments re. Mk7.5 status, residuals are rock solid. Mine’s going nowhere.

Hi, that’s good news about the possible residual values but I’m pretty sure I’ll be keeping the gti for a good while yet. About my side skirt problem, in just about the middle of the passenger side door the black skirt below looks like it has come away from it fixing, it’s bowed out by about 5mm and around 90mm in length. Am I right in thinking the skirt is made up of two parts ?

Yes, I think you’re correct that it’s in two parts.
I’d be surprised if there wasn’t a work through on YouTube somewhere.
Failing that try posting up in the mk7 section as someone is likely to know how it all comes apart.

Thanks, I’ll try both suggestions. Fitted a new under bonnet sound proofing cover today, the original had seen better days it looked like it had shrunk and looked a bit naff !!

They keep shrinking so likely that one will too unfortunately.

its held on underneath in middle by a small hex screw, remove that and then the whole skirt slides bacwards towards rear wheels, bit stiff so might have to hit it from front end with a plastic hammer or summat to get it to slide backwards
