Hello
Has anyone else had a problem with keyless auto locking when walking away from car? For me about 25% of the time, the car fails to lock when walking away. I've also got it set up to beep once if it does auto lock or beep twice if it fails to lock but even this doesn't aways work.
Had auto locking in my 1 series BMW and it always worked

Madness to use auto lock on walk away imo.

I had it on a previous car (LR Discovery 4), hated it. To check it was actually locked I used to put the key out of range and go back to the car to check it. The ‘convenience’ was exacerbated by rear door lock actuators that repeatedly failed meaning even though it flashed and folded its mirrors, rear doors not locked (great LR build quality). Had it disabled.

Please don't take this offence but I've said it before and I'll say it again.
The very first thing I did when I picked my brand new car up from the dealership was to disable this stupid feature.
How difficult is it to actually press the button on the fob to lock the car yourself?

I never trust auto lock - always use the fob (and usually more than once, just to make sure ).
To me, keyless auto lock is a solution to a problem no one ever had......

Totally agree. IMHO keyless auto lock is one of those things that car manufacturers’ marketing teams have successfully brainwashed some into thinking it’s a must-have feature. Pressing a button on a key fob isn’t too much of a hardship………….
That’s just my opinion though and no doubt some owners love keyless auto lock and that’s fine by me. It’ll be disabled in any car I own that has it.

I do use keyless to unlock as that can be quite handy, but always use the fob to lock. I just wouldn’t trust keyless locking.

Does it always unlock ok?
There was a problem early on with the Mk8 with the unlock not working... wouldn't be surprised if this is another thing thats showing its ugly face again with the mk8.5....
