Hi all
Currently in the process of speccing my GTI on the VW site. I like the look of the Estoril 19 inch wheels, but the tool won’t allow you to select DCC, just says you have to have sports suspension. However if I select the 19 inch Queenstown it says I can have DCC. Does anyone understand why this is like this ?
Many thanks in advance.

Personally, with the state of our pot holed, poor surfaced roads i would stick with 18s

It’s not unknown for the configurator to contain errors - the cynic in me would say it’s the norm . So inconsistencies regarding DCC depending on whether you select Estorils or Queenstown alloys is probably an error with the configurator.

It’s been like that since it went live, I wanted Queenstown and DCC anyway so it wasn’t an issue for me, but, I pointed it out to the sales guy when I ordered, that Estorils and DCC were not possible, so he checked if he could do it on their system, it still didn’t allow it! He had no idea why that would have been the case either. There are also other abnormalities, such as being able to spec rear heated seats on the CS, but not the base GTI!? Also on the CS there is only one DCC option regardless of wheel size chosen, where as on the base GTI it is a different DCC for 18’s or 19’s, most likely that some of the Configurator is wrong, and when it comes to ordering time, some things will need to be altered in order for VWs system to accept it.

My GTI has DCC, I’ve just put my original 18’s back on the car ready for trade in, I’ve noticed no discernible difference in ride quality compared to the 19’s I had fitted.

It’s a bit of an oddity with the wheel specs.
With the Estorils it states sports suspension which begs the question whether it has Clubsport spec springs and dampers (possibly even the camber changes too?) or something else. But bearing in mind the black styling pack seems mispriced owing to the standard spec containing the matrix headlamps anyway it’s possible the suspension changes quoted are a configurator mistake. Ask a decent dealer to see what it shows on their system or even ask them to put the question to VW UK.

Personally I prefer the standard 18’s over the queenstown

Ran 18s and 19s on my 7.5 gti performance noticed no real difference in ride quality either but traction grip handling and looks are way better on 19's!

So it looks like you can now select DCC on the configurator when selecting Estorils but not the DCC option for 19 inch wheels. So seems to be half fixed.

So the factory has finally said they can’t build the car with Estorils and DCC. So I’ve had to change to Queenstown to get DCC. The Estorils only come with the sports suspension option apparently. Good old VW

What does sports suspension mean in this context?
I don't really understand why it would mean that you cannot have DCC, when you seem to be able to spec DCC on all CS wheel types which I assume also has a 'sports suspension'.

On a £40k+ car, DCC should really be standard and then no issues...
