I am going back and forth with this one (it the CS really worth the extra ££, etc) but there are a couple of things on the UK configurator that I don't understand. And that's after watching a few recent video reviews of the GTI and the CS.
One of those things for starters:
Why is it possible to spec a space-saver spare wheel for the GTI but not the CS?
The usual reason is a big subwoofer in the boot space, but is that the case here?
I am a bit 'old school' and like the reassurance of a proper spare in the boot.
Thanks, Phil

HK audio is an optional extra and even so it fits inside the spare wheel... Which is a space saver anyway. (I have both)
My guess would be that the extra camber on the clubby might not be compatible with a space saver but more likely it's a configurator cock up... They are quite common...

Probably the much larger front brake setup on the clubsport.

If a space saver was supplied with a Clubsport and a front tyre deflated you’d have to jack the car, remove a back wheel, put it on the front and then place the skinny wheel on the rear. A bit of a faff.
You could buy a full size 18” spare (eBay) and squeeze that under the boot floor, along with a jack, a big wheel brace, tools etc. then carry a burly passenger who doesn’t mind getting dirt under their nails around with you, and another mate to hold an umbrella over your head whilst you supervise (these things only happen when it’s peeing down) proceedings.
Or you could buy a regular GTI, add some options, a space saver, it’d save you money and have less to worry about.
It’s enough to drive you to distraction.

Exactly. I was leaning towards the base GTI anyway so that probably clinches it. Thanks.
