Getting my new car on Monday and plan on changing the alloys quite soon. Any interest in a set of Richmond 18”x7.5j ET 51 alloys with Bridgestone tyres. Will have covered no more than 100 miles before being swapped out. Thinking £1200 collected from Devon

I know you’ve not even picked your car up yet and it’s likely to be a few years before you consider selling it, but if you’ve got the storage space, I’d keep the Richmond’s and put them back on the car when the time comes to sell it.
Many potential buyers - and motor traders if you part exchange or sell to a car buying service - like to see the original alloys on the car. Some aftermarket alloys won’t be to everyone’s taste and could reduce the size of the potential buyer pool. Additionally, IMHO you’d probably get a better price for the car with the original alloys on.
With my last three VW’s I’ve fitted non-factory alloys and come sale time, I’ve been asked if I had the original alloys to put back on the car. With each of those cars, I had the factory fitted alloys stored in my garage in wheel storage bags on a wheel tree and the whole lot covered over with a fitted cover to protect them from damage. With a mk6 Golf GTD I owned, I’d fitted VW Rotary alloys in place of the factory fitted diamond cut Charleston alloys and one VW dealer wouldn’t take the car with Rotary alloys fitted even though they were VW alloys. They offered me top dollar with the Charleston alloys fitted though.
So, something to consider if you are planning on changing your alloys……………

I agree with SRGTD's approach. Stick them back on when you get rid of the car and sell the aftermarket alloys that you'll take off at that time.
That's what I'll be doing in June when my lease car goes back. There are lots of unused Richmonds being stored in garages and that won't help their value.

Yeah I had considered that to be fair, suppose selling with immaculate diamond cut wheels in a few years would be a big plus. There is space in the shed too. I’ll see if I get any nibbles, if not they can wait to go back on in a few years

Just waved goodbye, 6 months to the day since I got it. A brilliant car I couldn’t fault, and would not normally change after such a short period of time. Lost £2400 in 6 months, so on par with a lease/PCP payment but over a shorter time. Just fancied something a bit bigger and got a very good deal on a new A5 Avant.
It’s actually gone to RevComps, who will probably have it up this week. I’ll buy a couple of tickets for a laugh

Definitely keep them then remove new wheels and swop back when trading or selling.
Then just sell the new wheels you are buying now to get a fair chunk of purchase price back depending on what they are.
