Title: p225100 and p201400
Post by: GTIMK7Performance on 08 August 2024, 20:33
Hello!
I bought a Golf gti performance from 2014 about two weeks ago. Last friday I got a check engine light (p225100 and p201400). The car feels the same and it does not feel like there is a problem with the car. But I still would want to fix these problems without paying a fortune to a mechanic. Does anybody now what you have to do or have any tips?

Any help is appreciated.
I also live in Sweden so if anybody here knows where to buy the parts from is also gladly appreciated.

My suggestion would be to get an OBDeleven dongle which is really useful for code reading and adaptations.
You can reset the codes and if they return identify the parts and hopefully fit yourself

Should maybe have been said but I have already read out the faults and its these im getting:
"p225100 = O2 Sensor Negative Current Control Circuit/Open Bank 1 Sensor 1"
"p201400 =  Intake Manifold Runner Position Sensor/Switch Circuit".
Just wondering if somebody has fixed these and have some tips of what needs to be replaced.
Also, would it be bad to still drive with these faults? Its my daily so I drive it almost everyday.

There is a sensor in the intake manifold that needs replacement. The O2 sensor fault could be caused by the manifold sensor  else the precat O2 sensor needs replacing. Search the forum. It has been discussed before.

Reset the codes yesterday and today the check engine light came back on when I started the car. Checked what codes it was, if it was the same codes. But now it only showes p2014 and I drove the car for a few hours but still only p2014. Gonna order a new sensor and see if that fixes it.
Checked the forum if somebody has had the same problem and found one where one says this sensor will work "06K 907 386 D"
Not sure if it will work in my car but maybe someone here knows.

A call to your VW main dealer might be the most reliable option?
