Hi i have a seat tarraco 1.5tsi 7 speed DSG
At around 1600-1800 rpm i have a rattle coming from seems like the front of the car towards driver side.
Here is video of the rattle

Doesnt matter what gear im in or speed i noticed always happens at low revs
Hear it most when pulling away and gear 1 and 2. Once up to speed it is hard to hear it.
Car pulls fine, drives fine etc.
Any suggestions on what to look for would be great help
Thanks

Difficult to tell but must be light metal.
Does it only do it whilst driving or when at the same revs stationary? If the former, I don’t suppose you could get it on axle stands to have a proper route around whilst the wheels are spinning?
-
Yes sorry forgot to say.
Only happens when driving. I tried to make noise happen on standstill by hovering between them revs but it dont happen.
Ill see if i have some axel stands in the shed.
Its odd that its only at 1600-1800 revs.

I got it to do it on idle. if i rev hard while revs come down it rattles. Ill try get another video.

That would be great if you could. Wastegate or heatshield perhaps a good place to start
-
So it happens on idle too. Between 1600-1800 rpm.
Not heat sheilds they are fine. After some googling looks like could the the actuator rod. Which is common.
It is happening all the time now when i drive. Will bw taking it back to the dealers on tuesday

I take it this sort movement from actuator rod is not normal

That doesn’t sound normal, no

I may have found the culprit then. Will be taking it back to dealers and get them to change this.
