Both iconic firms - very bad news, let's hope they rise again and the workforce are protected.

Sad news for two iconic brands.
A sign of the times though and very apt being posted in the mk8 section as very modern cars sum up why the aftermarket is in decline. The complexities of car technology, much of which is demanded by EU laws) mean it’s not so easy for customers to modify aspects of their cars unlike vehicles even just half a decade older.
These companies need to evolve with the market but there are huge costs involved and therefore a turn off for potential customers.
Fingers crossed they’ll rise from the financial ashes and as BillSan says, hopefully the workforce are protected.

Maybe the Edition 50 GTI in 2026 will have Recaro seats and BBS wheels if these companies can be revived.
