Title: A/C condensation drip.
Post by: Adam T7 on 18 July 2024, 14:08
Where does the a/c condensation drip out of car? Is it at the rear of the engine.
I have a wet patch at the engine rear that neither smells or tastes of anything other than water (albeit dirty).
It’s not engine or gearbox oil (no oil smell and rinses straight off in cold water) and I understand DSG fluid is green?
I do get a damp patch on the drive after use but it quickly evaporates away.
Thoughts?

Yh, that’s where i’ve had a small amount of fluid under the car at times.
Usually only when I’ve had 3 or 4 people in the car, with the AC running.
Sounds like AC drain- or whatever the technical term is

The air con drain is just to the left of the drivers foot rest underneath the carpet and insulation.

Crawling around underneath I can see the a/c drain, sadly I can also that the water source is the front of the engine and seeping  back (I park on an upward sloping drive) so looks like the dreaded water pump issue.
Minimal leak though but to the Indy next week.

Put some cardboard or something under the car and see what fluid you get- coolant would be obvious.

Leaked coolant tends to leave a pinky brown stain where its dried.
