Title: Hello from a new member

Hi all

Thanks to the admin(s) for allowing me to join - I've just bought (last Friday) a MK6 Golf GTI (2010, registered in 2013) and as I am new to GTI's, I thought it would be good to join this group.

Just over 38,000 miles on the clock (Japanese Import) I am currently trying to get a local garage to swap out the timing chain and tensioner (its currently running lovely, no funny noises on start up etc) but the first few I tried have said 'No thanks, too much work / too complex.' So still looking. Its a fantastic 'proper' car though, and its goes like nothing else I have driven (maybe a Skoda Octavia VRS, but never got that on the motorway).

The car sounds really nice, could you post up any photos?

Where are you based, some members might be able to recommend a specialist assuming the work even needs doing?
