Title: PCP Finance Claims
Post by: BillSan on 09 March 2024, 13:48
Apologies if there is already a thread on this, but I can't recall seeing anything.

My current Clubby is on a lease rather than PCP so outside the scope of claims but I had a Polo GTi about 6 years ago. I've therefore followed Martin Lewis's advice and sent VW an email to see if they might pay some compensation for overcharging.  Nothing ventured, nothing gained and I'm not expecting anything.

I'll consider any repayment a bonus and the email took literally 15 minutes including digging out the finance agreement.

Fingers crossed.

If it was a new car on finance with Volkswagen finance then the rates were fixed and therefor dealers weren’t able to tweak the rates at all to earn extra commision so wouldn’t think you are therefor eligible for any compensation.

Polo campaigns were a fixed campaign that will of earned the dealer a fixed commission of £100.

Submit the claim like Martin Lewis said it’s from 2007 until early 2021. You’ll get a reply from VW finance and the reply I’ve had back does not indicate that they did not perform that practice. What went on between the lenders and the car dealers will not be privy to many of us here but it’s big enough for the FCA to have identified a problem which will be reported on in September.

Like I said it only took 15 minutes and I'm not expecting anything.  Nothing lost so it's worth the chance even if I get £10.
