Post by: 16vbanger on 22 October 2005, 21:01
notice on the newer one the center bush has worn offset
now I am 100% I know the reason but what's the chances of it knackering the box by being like that ?

ypu the preivios owner changed the engine then killed the box through lack of locateing dowel I suspect
then I fitted an 8v box in a hurry and never noticed much except the off center bushing wear untill it was done
instantly a quite box was noisey as hell in reverse but I ignored it hopeing since it sounded the same as before it must be CV's changed cv's still the same  :undecided:
fit the dowel and a proper 16v box and no more clunking in reverse

and to the boy racer comment it's a Girl racer acctualy that being my misses
