stuff in the next few weeks...

metal cooling pipe
rocker cover gasket
flanges(if i cant get the part numbers)
Cam Belt & Tensioner
exhaust keeps falling off needs the rubbers replacing

Stuff already done

heater matrix
temp sender for clocks
thermo electric swith on radiator
thermostat as there wasnt one :undecided:
central locking complete
removed toad alarm(not working) and old cobra immobiliser
installed new cobra 8188/6 alarm
changed all switch and clock lights for led's
replaced rear wiper mech as it had seized
replaced all wiper blades
fuel relay
rolling road tuned(127bhp :shocked:)

and there are still loads left to do :S

superchip now properly mapped one done on rolling road at dubsport
jamex -60mm kit now adjustable spax psx kit -60mm
bonrath poly top mounts
new wheels and tyes allround
bonnet both wings and doors sprayed new hella head light
single h/lamp grille

Now got in standard 1.8 in, dropped rod on number one cyl demolished block and head on engine above 3 weeks ago. In process of building 2.0lt block new ported bvh done and built with 276 cam, but changing to 268 cam. Lightened flywheel on way. Hopefully to have quaife diff by next year summer.

Every bearing and bush on the car.
Fuel pump housing
Rear Calliper
Hand brake Cables
Dizzy
Timing belt and tensioner.
Leads
Plugs
2 Oil changes
Alternator toothed bracket and adjuster nut.

All of the above was just preventative maintenance except for the calliper and cables.

Next year it will be a DIY BBS refurb. Full interior overhaul and a respray. Every brake line and possibly a brand new engine from VW.

bought loads of autoglym products - don't why I bother given our sh*te weather!! :angry:
MOT'd - passed first time :smiley:
Suspension bushes replaced all round
Driven it loads - so much it's passed the 60K mark :smiley:

think thats about it - saving now towards my next car.... :wink:

Post by: Neaty on 24 October 2005, 10:50: Well in the last 12 months i have had 4 golfs so it would take me a while to explain all of them! but the one i have now, (had it since september), my helios blue mark 2 16 valver - i have just lowered it 55 mm, and put a single light de-badged grill and crystal clear head lights. oh and put my stereo from in my other golf (one of them) in my valver. I keep meaning to get pictures up on here, must do it soon!!

4 new sets of wheels - had 17s on when I bought it, changed these for VW Teardrop 14s (very corroded air leaking all over the place), then a set of Driver steelies, now got 14" PSlots on.......

Plugs, HT leads, dizzy cap, rotor arm
Renewed 2 corroded earth straps
Engine tune-up (ignition timing adjusted)
Jetex performance air filter
Renewed centre box on Scorpion system (then had it re-sealed about 4 times cos it kept blowing)
Renewed knackered strut top mounts
Front wheel bearing (done at Premier Northampton, gone again 2 months later (!!) so on the to do list
Ball joint replaced
Tracking adjusted
Debadged two light grille
Eyebrow spoiler
Smoked side repeaters
Rear wiper blade
Front engine mount
New number plates
Wolfsburg plate holders
Leather gear lever gaiter
Leather gearknob
Parcel shelf (original one had big holes in it)
Weighted shift rod

To do list:
Oil/Filter change
New headlights (probably crystal smoke crosshairs)

16" bbs rxII anniversary wheels
4 Toyo poxy tyres - fronts replaced after 4 months and 6k miles! (lots of grip though)
Wheel alignment check and adjustment!
Set of BBS solitudes while RXIIs get refurbished - sometime before next summer probably. (maybe)
rust spots on rear panel and bottom of front doors sorted grill resprayed to get rid of stone chips.
New wing mirror motor, ignition switch and barrel, new locks all round and new keys (thank god for warranties!)
90k mile service
new rear axle bushes, shock absorbers and bump stops
Air con service
about 60 tanks of petrol!!!!!!!
and i've washed it two or three times this year.

sent it off for engine work,
waited 5 months for pistons from je,
new wheels,
charger reuilt,
sorted the arches to get wheels on,
lowered it more,
put a carbon bonnet on,
took it off,
put it back on,
had it mapped,
oh and put faw too much fuel in it :sad:

next is bigger injectors and winter wheels.

Post by: [han] on 04 November 2005, 22:21: after waiting an hour and 40 mins for the rac to pick me up, stood at the side of the road with the car stopped in a layby wearing nothing mroe than a t-shirt, black shrug and a fleece banket i swore at my car andtold it i didn't like it any more, and thats after a new rotor arm n dizzie cap, 2 new doors and a set of big bumpers, and a full tank of petrol! my car is no longer working :angry: and i lovevd my car!!!

coolant change + new expansion tank
timing
tracking

stuff to be done asap:

cambelt
clutch (possibly)
plugs
leads
dizzy cap + rotor arm
alternator belt (adjustment, maybe replacment if it can't be sorted)

stuff in the future:

valve stem seals
head gasket

mods to come:

split rims of some sort
bodywork tidying up (rust removing etc) or perhaps a blow over respray
leather seats. not sure what out of yet
1.8t hopefully!
