Hi all!
A bit of a funny one here.
I have a 11 plate Gti, also a Jap Import incase that makes a differnace here.
While adding in the large digital speed display on the mfd, its only coming up in KPH.
The funny thing is the rest of the items on the MFD are in MPH, including average speed, speed warning and all that. Only the Digital Speed is in KPH.
I used my VCDS to change the country to ROW, set the units to MPG/miles and unticked the Alt Speed display in the MFD settings as required.
Can anyone advise how I can change the digial speed from KPH to MPH please?
It may be that the speedo is the original KPH one.
Another point to note, when I go back to the UK settings with the VCDS, the small digital speedo above the odometer comes up in Mph which is why its confusing me a bit.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Jamie

Hi Jamie, did you ever get this sorted? I'm asking as i have just imported a edition 35 from japan myself and have the same issue, would be nice if you have a solution.
thanks,

I seem to remember reading somewhere that you need to choose Australia as the region. This can be done using a good OBD reader and app, I use Carista for what it’s worth.

Thanks, I'll give that a go over the weekend

Hi, Sorry for the delayed reply. I havent been on in a while.
I did get it sorted but long story short, I ended up changing the complete clock unit out for a UK spec one.
Once that was done and ABS coding was completed, I was able to get the digital section all working as it should.

I used Carista on a 62 plate GTI to change the KPH to MPH by selecting Australia. But the Japan import maybe hardware then based on most recent reply?
Might still be worth trying Australia though.

Yes, the settings need to be changed to Australia (or ROW), this is the case with Uk models as well
