does anybody know where I can get a step by step guide of how to fit coilovers??? or has somebody written one already on the forum??

no, but they are as easy, if not easier to fit than regular units. they fit on exactly the same way but because they are all contained you don't have to worry about spring compressors etc. just when they are on, when setting the ride height, make sure you measure from the same point on each side. doesn't matter what you use as your point of referance as long as its consistant.
if you really want i'll do one later when i've got more time.....

you might get a clicking noise at the front. this will come from the bottom of the topmount.
The bottom of the topmount smacks againts the top of the coilover if you know what i mean? :rolleyes:

This can be fixed with a few large washers between the two.

buy new topmounts while your at it :smiley:

Yes bruv wat u sayin,  Itz easy. :wink:  You should buy new top suspension bushes for all 4 conerz to start with..   All you need from the old units is the spacers n washers between spring and top bush..  OH!! you might need spring clampz to be safe.    I didnt use any.:shocked:.    When your ready give Aklass a shout,  remember me MK 1 had a 100mm + drop :grin: :grin: :  :cool:

right as i had my wheels off today i took some pics. to be honest though ben did a good write up on how to lower your car in the maintenance section, so check there and then all these photos show is an example of how to measure the spring platform.

should have got the jet wash out first!! and goes back to a comment i made to blue ( :P ) about buying good coilovers that don't corrode on the threads!!!

Make sure you cover the threads in copper grease :tongue:
