Well it's free, so it won't cost you anything to find out.

It's mostly quite gimmicky, I rarely think to use it. You can:

- lock/unlock the car remotely (although this can be very slow to take effect)
- switch on ventilation
- see the car's last known parked position
- send navigation destinations to the Nav
- view driving data stats, fuel consumption, remaining fuel in tank, etc

On the rare couple of occasions I have found is useful to unlock / lock the car. Example being, leaving the house (without car keys as I was walking) realising I need something from the car after i've locked the house up. As said above, it's little slow but it works.

I wish the ventilation thing would turn on heating! I don't need fresh air at the moment I need warmth!

Does ventilation actually do anything? Won't demist the windows even or cool down the interior so can't see the point

i can only
Am i meant to be able to unlock/lock the car, and turn on off ventilation too? I assumed you had to have the digital key prep to do those...

To unlock / lock the car you need to register with VW and go through an ID check to prove it's really your car, for security! The vent things seems to be a recent addition for me, so might be something to do with the app version or the software version of your car

I have downloaded the app, but can you tell how you registered it with VW to be able to do the lock/unlock thing?
Thanks
