Hi all,
Anyone experienced this - ?
Very occasionally, the spoken directions on the satnav are replaced by a single bong. Basically, whenever the sat nav would announce something, (eg approaching a junction etc.) you just get a single bong - for absolutely no reason. The satnav operates fine, showing the directions on the screen etc.
Then, you park up for an hour and the spoken directions mysteriously reappear.
Any ideas?

Hi TonyJ
Whilst I've not experienced this in a Mk8, still waiting for my Mk8 to appear.
From sat navs I've used over the years, usually spoken directions are replaced with an audible tone when there is other spoken audio taking priority on the sat nav unit.
I'm sure I've been "bonged" by sat navs when I've had a mobile phone call going on through the head unit, whilst at the same time using the head unit's sat nav route guidance.
Probably because a bong is less disruptive to your call audio than spoken directions, but still lets you know to look at the sat nav screen for route changes/instructions.
Maybe that's what's going on? Or the sat nav is having a wibble and thinks you're on call hence the bongs instead of spoken directions?

Yeah it's happened a few times to me... Recently.
Hold down the power button and reboot it.
Comes back straight away.
