Title: Drivers seat clicking
Post by: Rudedog on 10 October 2023, 20:40
Any solution to the driver seat clicking when I brake and come to a full stop - very slight sound but does it every time and is now very annoying.

Pretty sure it's coming from the rails as when I put a small blob of Teflon grease on the rails it became a lot less noticeable for a few days.

Is there a diy fix or is it seat out and replacing something?

I share your frustrations.. Driver's seat creaks and clicks whilst driving, mostly while cornering when my weight shifts left and right. I sometimes like a drive without music so the creaking does spoil it a bit.

Sorry for not having a solution, keen to see if anyone has a fix.

I'd had my car about 3 months when I sent it back for a creaking drivers seat and they had it for months, gradually replacing bits of the seat and then they couldn't get the leather (back order) so I had a regular Golf as a loaner for ages. It is really annoying, but it can be fixed.

I think I've sorted this.... seems to be quite common and reading another Golf forum one mentioned that it can happen if you have your seat in the very lowest position (which I do) - the simple solution is to pump it up just by one push.

Thought I'd give it a go - guess what it worked! no more clicking when I accelerate or brake.
