Title: Locking wheel bolt key failed
Post by: Paul70 on 01 October 2023, 10:55
Has anyone else had an issue with their locking wheel bolt nut. The lock pattern snapped off the other day so  the nut just rotates freely and I need to buy new bolts but this just seems a bit odd and I was wondering how many other people have experienced this?

I know that VWs are radius seat bolts but I see there are R12, Radius and R14 options, so I presume Radius is 13?? Which one is required for OEM VW wheels? Many thanks!

Replaced my locking bolts with normal bolts years ago. Nobody steals wheels anymore to they are pointless effort when working on the car.

Agree, locking nuts on a previous car failed due to corrosion- got local Indy tire fitter to remove and I replaced with a set of non locking nuts.

Thanks for your comments gents.

Fitted new aftermarket locking wheel bolts today - couldn’t quite get my head round not have locking bolts on my wheels!
