Hi
I am looking to buy VW Golf r 7.5
It's only got 30k on the cloc, but the dealer does not have it's service history book.
As it was misplaced by last owner apparently.
Is there a chance to obtain a new Service book from the VW dealer and get it stamped again?
I have also read on Google MK7 Vw Golf did not came with service book it's all digital, Is that correct as you guys should be able to tell.
Also is there anyway I can check the service history online
Thanks.

There is no service book as standard anymore. The records are all kept electronically now.
The service department of your local VW dealer should be able to print the service records out for you if it has been serviced by VW.
-
Oh well that’s strange..
I’m looking the car with Lookers and I asked them for the service History book and they told me it’s missing but last service was done by them..
Car only got 30k on the cloc so I guess if last service was done by Lookers there should be one service done by VW and the very first one which is PDI service , Right..?
Is there anyway I can check the service History myself online..!
Thanks
-
I don’t believe you can check the Service History yourself but as above, a VW main Dealer should be able to print one of for you as can some Independents who have access to the System.
Good luck.

Just create yourself an erWin account online, which anyone can do, and you can view the history for your vehicle.
https://erwin.volkswagen.de/erwin/showHome.do
Thats what i have done and when i service my car i enter the details online keeping the digital history up to date.
I also have a service book which i stamp as normal.

The VW Service Record, though good for showing the type of service and dates, will not tell you actually what was done, so take a pad and pen and sit down with person accessing the record and write down all the work undertaken for further peace of mind
Recently purchased a MK 7.5 R and before purchased did just this given there was no service book, finding that its last service was actually a major and all the main components were serviced, such as the Haldex, Air Con, Spark Plugs, Oil and Filter and few bits more that cannot remember off top of head.
On service record it just stated oil and inspection.
Its time well spent as convinced me that car was well looked after mechanically alongside the car being immaculate on inspection also.
Had car a couple of weeks now and its driving like new, so hopefully again a sign to its well looked after history. Its a little time consuming but if truly set on a car and its down to the fine details to convince you, going a little bit more forensic on the service history and asking them to list what was actually done is worth it for peace of mind, as well as informing you of what service costs are ahead IE: in an R case, the Haldex maybe due in 6 months.

I've just registered and can't find how I access my service history - any advice gratefully received! Thanks.

That’s excellent, I’ll have a play when I get home👍

I think its this, Products and services - digital service schedule - enter VIN.

Nope, doesn't work for me unfortunately, but thanks anyway.

I got in but had to pay for it (not sure if I was doing right thing?) so I declined. I’ll just get a copy from the Indy that services mine next time I have a service.
-
Ive just tried and got my digital service history displayed, never paid.
Enter your VIN then click "Open DSS", should show service history provided it has a digital history.

Ok, didn’t do that, I’ll give it another go👍

I can't find an "Open DSS" anywhere (or anywhere that lets me put in a vin)? All options seem to be paid for services?

^^^^ Okay, thanks madstaff. When I log in I only get two options on that drop down, not the three shown in your screenprint. The one that is missing is "Digital Service Schedule" I have the other two. That's a shame. Thanks for your help.
Edit. Are you logged in as a business (I'm not)?
-
Ahh, that could well be the difference.
Just edit your details, tick the company box and add a company name, TurboTrevs Dodgy Jalopys or something??

  Thanks, I'll give that a try. Just noticed you've got CS Ed40 number 706. I've got 704.
Edit. Yes, I've just re-registered as a business and I now have the Serivice link in the drop down. Thanks.

No problem, glad you got it sorted fellow CS40 pilot.

Had a look at mine there and it actually doesn't have my service from last Monday on it yet. Doesn't show the diff or brake fluid changes either, doesn't concern me as I've a folder of all the invoices but something to bare in mind.
-
When I serviced mine I also carried out a brake fluid change and a diff service which I recorded as additional items and when I highlight that service it confirms those items have been done as part of that particular service.
-
Also what I've found is my dealer won't automatically give me a parts break-down invoice as I'm on a service plan - just a note saying 'serviced as per plan', the only time I got one was when they gave me one by mistake when the thought I was paying and didn't realise I had a SP.
They do give me the techs tick-box list of work carried out and figures for things like the coolant and battery condition.
-
Couple of services missing from my history too, all done by Walkingshaws, the local VW dealer. I guess they forgot to update the DSS.
-
Thanks for posting this, just had nosey around mine after creating company - very useful, everything up to date👍
-
Would like to know why they didn't integrate the service history into the radio like in BMW's, considering it would cross over to all models.

Or on the We Connect App?

Thanks for this, have set up an account and can see all my services, I have only one service under my ownership but VW never gave me a printed sheet but the additional works, e.g. spark plugs have been included so taken screen shots and will print out good to have. VW gave me the same summary but wouldnt give me the details of each service.

They have taken the "Products and services - digital service schedule" part away now sadly.

I'm just looking at this and trying to register. What is the 'VW working context' box asking for on the bottom of the registration screen please. I keep getting kicked out as I dont know what to put!
Ignore that, just left it blank!
Registered through a company name and could access the DSS, however it doesn't really show anything different to the VW supplied and very brief synopsis.
I can however add additional items which is handy for stuff I can do myself.
