it's gonna get dropped 40mm soon and I have all the proper bit's ie 88 black trim bumpers spoiler etc
now I have never seen the valances on this car that will be the real decider
so opinions please
as we don't know small is cooler but big looks ok I dunno :undecided:
but we do like the 90 spec sill covers
-
Have to confess to being a big bumper fan
-
Big bumpers for me. It's a matter of taste, classic vs. modern.
-
I like both but I'm swaying towards small bumpers these days.
-
I like Big Bumpers but i also like the "clean" look, i.e all the plastic trim off - arches and side mouldings etc, small bumpers and slammed!
-
This is a tricky one...I love the big bumpers but just of late I've been picturing my valver with the small bumpers on it...
I guess I'll find out what I prefer when I get round to the respray...if I opt for small and don't like em I've already got the big bumper kit to put back on!! :undecided:
-
our bumpers have to come off soon to fit the proper slider brackets maybe I'll fit the smalls back on before drilling for the final decesion :undecided:
I do know the front valance is a bit rusty as it can be seen through the big bumper  maybe I should spray our spare valance satin black to match the grill strip and see how that look's
-
i'd say as you've got the whole '90 spec kit you might as well keep the big bumpers, unless you fancy changing the arches, sills etc. also depends on the look your going for. if you want old school, euro style with massive drop and cool wheels go small bumpers. if you want to keep it at a reasonable ride height of 40mm drop and not so rare/old school rimns i'd say leave the big bumpers on.

If i had a white mk2 id do what Joe said above, euro all the way.
Big drop, small euro bumpers(with the chrome bits in) cool wheels etc.
If in doubt tho, tru www.dubmodder.co.uk and have a play for yourself!
-
dooow it!
that dubmodder thing is the best thing ever, i never get any work done!!
its a shame they dont have helios blue in the golf so i could do a replica of my car!
-
Small bumpers with chrome trimming.....
Thn slam it to the graound and get rid of the excess trim
-
made a slight balls up, its dubmodder.com not co.uk but its a class site and well worth a look!
-
i like big bumper's,but i got a soft spot for small bumpers
-
this arguement goes on in my head all the time, i like my car the way it is but i love small bumpers
im tryin to persuade the mrs to pass her test so she can buy a golf and i can turn that one into a small bumpered old skool beast

I was trying to persuade "my freind" to get a mark 2 gti also, so then i could rag her and rag her car also!!
-
small bumpers, big doors
-
well its now 40mm lower and keeping big bumpers
-
the best golf i have ever seen belongs to my bro-in-law its lethal! but i would not drive it due to silly girlie small bumpers !
jet

My general opinion is that if it's a pre-90 spec model, then it should be small bumper, if it's post-90 then it should be big bumper.
But I've seen a pre-90 small bumper look bad and a post 90 big bumper look bad.
Some how when I look at a pre-89/90 car, it doesn't look right unless it has small bumpers.
It's up to you though, it's your car.
I like a clean euro/retro look small bumper car, or a phat, low, big bumper mk2, although my current taste is for the former.
