Wasn't sure which board to put this...
I've noticed that the AC isn't ice cold like it used to be. It was ge-gassed by VW Dealer as a prerequisite of the All in service plan 18months ago - there was absolutely nothing wrong with it at the time...
The refrigerant pressure is approx 5.4bar with no AC on, it raises to 5.8-6.0 when on max AC. I've read differing values online...
If deffo cools, but I feel like it should be cooler.
Any pointers?

I don't think there's anything you can do other than get it booked in. Might just need a top up or a seal may be faulty. Either way, you can't do it yourself.

OK thanks, will do...

my 2013 Gti A/C still blows ice cold and has never been serviced/re gassed. In fact , it blows colder than my 2018 5 series. Always have the A/C running all year round and I think that assists in the performance of the whole system. Hope you get it sorted and that its only a top-up required and not something more expensive.

I’m the same as you, A/C on all year around and (touching wood) never an issue in 24 years of owing cars with A/C apart from a manufacturing fault on a brand new Discovery.
Never had an A/C service.
My wife turns hers off, drives me to distraction.

It was fine until the VW dealer touched it! I did get a phone call during the service, to advise of a delay due to the machine running out of gas. 2 and 2 together and I'm wondering if it was never filled properly.
I do leave the AC on all year round as well. It is deffo working, but just not as cold as it should be.

But you originally said it was regassed 18 months ago? Presumably it's been fine until recently? As I said before, a seal might have gone and it's leaking. I'd get it checked out.
