I am unsure which is more effective but I have used this before on squeaking window rubbers.

Do you treat all the door seals with Krytox? How do you apply it and how long does it last?

Agree, it does a decent job of keeping door rubbers free of unwanted squeaks and it’s significantly cheaper than Krytox. The going rate for VW branded Krytox typically seems to be around £40 for 30ml, so if Gummi Pflege is £11.89 for 500ml, that makes Krytox around 56 times more expensive per ml :shocked:;

Gummi Pflege; £11.89 for 500ml (equivalent of £2.38 per 100ml)
Krytox; £40.00 for 30ml (equivalent of £133.33 per 100ml)

The effects of Krytox are meant to be longer lasting than Gummi Pflege, but is it worth paying 56 times the price? For me, the answer is ‘no’  :whistle:.

I used this, Gummi Pflege Rubber Care Stick.  on the rubbers on a JCW mini I had and it worked wonders.  :smiley:

Another vote for Gummi.... but.....

I noticed that the squeaking started on my old car after I waxed the car and made the error of waxing the door inners too. The rubber seals then started squeak where they made contact in those areas so I stripped the wax off all those areas and used the same APC solution to clean all the rubbers and the noise disappeared.

This may help others who have unwanted squeaking before shelling out, worth a try as most of us can get hold of some APC easily enough.

Also car shampoo that contains wax doesn’t help on door rubbers.

I'm sure you all know that 'Gummi Pflege' just means 'rubber care' in German - I'm currently using the Liqui Moly stick but have used a Wurth banded one with the same affects.

Yep, search Gummi Pflege into Amazon and you get multiple brands, Moly Slip seems the most popular.

Do you treat all the door seals with Krytox? How do you apply it and how long does it last?

Treat what needs treated.

Put on a pair of gloves
Put a little on the palm of the left glove
Dip a finger into the Krypton and apply

It lasts for a number of years. If VW could get away with using a cheaper alternative they'd use it like Liquimoly, Sonax etc.
Same reason they use Quantum oil and not amazon own brand!
