Title: GTI MK7 plastic sump - anyone got a steel sumpguard?
Post by: GTIlad on 10 July 2023, 14:36
After looking under my MK7 GTI and seeing that it's got a plastic sump. The sump sits pretty low, on mine this is exacerbated by the fact my GTI is lowered posing an even bigger risk of fracture or damage. I'm considering adding some protection in form of a sumpguard. Has anyone else done the same?

Some people on the R Forum have fitted the sump from the Tiguan which is metal, other have gone for the undertray from the all-track which is stronger.

You might find this link useful. There is a section on front undertrays and fitting - taken from Golfdave's post in the guides section of the forum https://www.golfmk7.com/forums/index.php?threads/all-of-golfdaves-how-to-retro-fit-guides.337352/

Cheers guys.

Will do some research and update the thread if I decide to get a more heavy duty solution fitted.
