Title: Stiff Dipstick

Noticed the engine dipstick getting stiff to remove / insert - any thoughts?
I check my oil c.weekly, never an issue before.

Always been tight on my 7.5. Assumed, but possibly in error, that it was to form an airtight seal?

Always been tight, but seems tighter. Could simply be the extra heat over the past few days? - engine running at 105 - 106C over past few days.
I’ll have another play when it’s cold.

Maybe the O ring seal on it has become damaged and is catching slightly as you try to pull it out.

It’s ok when cool, checked ‘o’ ring last night, ok condition.
Lubed with a bit of krytox and it appears to be ok now.

Checked mine this afternoon.... both little hooks have now come off, the stick is still as tough as anything to pull out so the O ring must be doing its job, maybe the heat has made the hooks brittle, I know I lost one after the last service.

Don't think I can justify a new one at around £25... it was really loose then that might be different.
