Title: ACC Motorway Braking
Post by: Colh on 05 June 2023, 19:14
Just back from a visit to Scotland and discovered my GTI has learned a new trick since Xmas.  Using ACC and Sat Nav, it brakes hard on the motorway when it thinks you might be on a slip road or if you ignore a satnav detour.  Had several cases of the car hitting the brakes with a message in the cluster saying bend ahead. Luckily nothing following close behind me but a bit unnerving.  Was coming up even when in the fast lane so a fair distance from the slip roads.

Also found that I'm now missing traffic updates, so part way through the journey lost the red/orange on the map that indicated slow points.

See discussion thread below - especially the last post in that thread; reply #8.

i also got this, it seems to happen to mine when the Sat Nav picks up a road as you drive under any bridges, then recalculates the route, thinking you have missed the turning.

Yeah I used to get the satnav a bit confused thinking I was taking a detour, but this is the first time I've had it actually start slamming on the brakes for me related to the satnav.  Not great when you go from 70 to 50 in the fast lane.
