Much as I hate wrongly spaced numberplates, I saw this and thought it might be of interest to someone.

I’m with your opinion, but each to their own.

I’ve never been into the private plate thing. If I was, then I wouldn’t buy one which linked the plate to a specific car such as a GTI; my next car might not be a GTI.
I seem to remember some years ago there was a member on the forum with the registration plate GT11 ANS on their Candy White mk6 GTI Golf; their first name was Ian (so GTI IAN’S). I can’t remember if they had illegally spaced letters / numbers on their plate though (I also dislike wrongly spaced registration plates).

I had a TVR Griffith with the plate P6 TVR back in the olden days.
However it was on the car when I bought it, and the car featured in lots of promotional material wearing that particular plate so it had some history.

Based on the first letter and digit on my plate, folk sometimes ask if I used to have a TT….. (I haven’t)

I had a Jeep TJ Wrangler. Bought J33 PTJ from DVLA for £250. I successfully risked it for 4 years as J33P TJ. Sold the plate for 3k.
That was my only venture into the private plate scene but when I bought my First GTI in 2008 I noticed the Milton Keynes registered
vehicles started with KN. I toyed with KN08 EAD ( The GTI ordered was an 08 plate) but figured DVLA would have blocked it.
