Title: parking sensor failed
Post by: Tornado8 on 03 April 2023, 17:48
I have a faulty parking sensor on the rear (I have Park Pilot). The screen shows an ! sign on the rear n/s. How do
you diagnose which one it is. Is it one of the two sensors on that side? The front are working fine. Thanks in advance.

Not sure if the same for VW but previous car used to have regularly failing sensors. Working ones used to click when you waved a hand in front of them, failed ones were silent. Stick in reverse and test (ignition on but engine off).

When I brake in my car sometimes my front parking sensors turn on even though there's nothing in front . That's even more annoying as it's a randomly occurring problem

The parking sensor systems of other manufacturers can interfere with VW (and other brands), which can trigger than to randomly start I've always found with my car it's usually a Ford S-max or Fiesta that can trigger them.

Thats hilarious  I'm going to try and remember the type of vehicle every time now.
Can that happen even when the vehicle in front isn't in reverse gear?
