Title: Rear bumper cut out?

Anyone know why the rear bumper diffuser (underside) has a cut out section approx 10" x 6" and what is for or should there be a cover over it?

It’s to accommodate the VW tow bar.

Mk7.5 rear bumper had a similar cut out. As far as I’m aware, there’s no cover for the cut out.

Did think that's what it may be but wasn't sure if cover had been lost for it .
