Title: New alloys
Post by: GtIOlly on 12 February 2023, 16:52
Hi all first time posting
Anyone able to help me out, looking at changing my 19" Adelaides with the Eagle f1ss to some 18/19"Motec MCR4 wich Michelin ps4ss.
Do I have to change anything in the suspension?, how will it drive if I go from 19"-18" ?
Not changed weels on a car before so any advice is appreciated.

Welcome!

You won’t have to change anything as regards the suspension but wheel width and offset will need to be in range to fit under the arches.

Those wheels look nice but the little holes will be a pain to clean.

I have changed 19s to 18s on a 7.5 and on my 8. The ride will probably be less harsh. I prefer it but nothing wrong with 19s either.

If you stick with 19s you’ll save on new tyres

If you are fitting aftermarket wheels, it's worth checking to see if you need new wheel bolts.
Some wheels have tapered seats, some have radiused seats where the bolts fit against the wheel.

Yes, there’s too much choice out there.

Mind you, if you want something very special and totally OEM:

I’ve got a very very slight kink in one of my front wheels so decided to look at alternatives and… too much choice out there so can’t be bothered!
