Check your oil
Camshaft failure on mk7s

I check mine every couple of weeks, it does use a bit.
-
Saw this a few days ago, presuming it is the Mexico built ones has not heard of any Fazer failing here in UK.
-
I have a deep level of paranoia about oil (and all other fluid levels) - check mine weekly and change the oil at every 6 months, even if I’m only doing 4k pa.

Same with me even though the 0w20 oil is expensive! This has paid dividends for the mk6 still running well with good oil pressure at 95k.

Worst thing is trying to get the dip-stick out... really doesn't want to come out easily.

A clockwise quarter(ish) turn seems to help but it is very stiff.

5w-30 ??
Or 5W 40

Or Shell 0w-30 as used by my dealer at the last service.

Though many people scoff at the idea of running a car in according to manufacturer recommendations, I have a feeling this makes a difference to oil consumption and failures like this.
I ran mine in properly. I haven’t needed a drop of oil in 26k miles. Over the course of a year my dipstick level will drop from maximum to halfway between maximum and minimum.
I would bet none of these cars with camshaft failures are one owner from new.
