Title: Mk6 infotainment MIB2

Hi
Have installed an MIB2 unit into my Ed35. All works great.
Any recommendations as to where to put the CarPlay USB socket..?

Have you got any pictures of the install, I’d be interested to see.

As for where to put the usb, you can get one that fits in to one of the empty button spaces by the gear stick, where the traction control button etc is.

Thanks for response. That would be my preference but usb port needs to be CarPlay compatible and I have not come across any for that location that are. Do you have a link at all?

Edit - seems that the cable doesn't have the Carplay license pin...

Does the headunit have a USB port in the back?

Thanks. But yes looked at all these. No port in the back of the head unit so have ordered a mk7 USB / Aux port and will try locating in the armrest for now.
Considering buying the mk6 button type one and the trying to butcher it with parts so I can have a neater solution…probably won’t work!

I don't have my mk6 here to measure but would this fit under the armrest to replace the oem connection?

The Mib2 is something I've been thinking about, be interested how it went and what coding it needs.

That’s what I have coming, mk7 port. Hoping it might fit but think it may be a little bigger..? Fingers crossed.
Didn’t get it from VW Retrofit but had cruise installed by him prexmas. Great place.
