Title: Drilled disk noises
Post by: DaveFran on 27 December 2022, 12:36
Hi,

Do other owners of the R and Clubsport find when the brakes are warm they hear a noise a bit like a card hitting the spokes on a bicycle wheel?

Mainly when applying the brakes, but it does sometimes do it (quieter) when driving between brake applications.

Once cooled down there are no noises.

If I'm driving past a row of parked cars or a wall for example, both on the nearside, and I put the passenger front window down I get that clicking noise. It's not when I'm on the brakes, doesn't matter whether they are hot or cold, just driving normally. From a quick look on other forums etc many other drivers with drilled brake discs have reported this so I thought it was normal i.e. is it not just air rushing through the drilled slots on the discs? I can't hear it when the windows are up so have never had it looked at and don't believe there is any reason to. Can anyone else confirm this is right?
