Does anyone know if this port in the back of my infotainment unit is for a DAB antenna?
It’s a jap import GTI mk7 2014. The unit model is 5G0035050B
Thanks in advance

On previous generations of infotainment units there were two fakra connectors at the rear to the antenna one for fm and one for dab. This was because there is an in line frequency filter to eliminate ' interference ' between the two. Not sure about the most recent units and particularly jap imports as frequency ranges in use are a bit different to UK. Sorry not to be more helpful.

I’m not sure if I can a DAB amplifier that sits in the boot hatch to enable DAB. I have already changed the coding for FM to use UK frequency with VAGCOM. I was hoping I could fit a DAB antenna/amplifier and enable DAB

I fitted a DAB amplifier to my scirocco when I changed the fm radio for a fm/DAB unit. I used the same window (side window on the scirocco) antenna and in my case changed the fm amplifier for a fm/dab amplifier and ran an additional antenna cable to the radio from the amplifier. There were two antenna sockets on the radio for fm and DAB. If the radio is DAB ready you should be able to get it working.

That’s exactly what I am hoping to do. I have ordered a cheap DAB Ariel on Amazon to check the unit is capable of DAB before I order the Amplifier and run the cable through

Thought that socket was the lvds, and dab was on the bit that’s indented next to the gps

But I could be getting that mixed up with Audi
