Title: Weconnect expired
Post by: CookieMonsterGTi on 30 September 2022, 08:46
To be honest, I didn’t realise all services ceased at the end of the three years. I still expected to be able to check how much petrol I’ve got in the car or if I turn the lights on and off. I thought the service was for the online items and aspects such as emergency contact, map, updates, et cetera.

Just had a look and it’s quite a cost for what he’s pretty limited functionality.

Don’t think I’ll bother with it, but at the same time, it’s a bit of a shame to lose a few functions that you only use once in a while.

It's not something I'd thought about either.

But as I'm now thinking of keeping my car for a 4th year (I'll pay for an extended warranty too) how much did they quote for an extra year of We Connect?

Now reduced: 1 year Guide & Inform Basic for £42.00 (was £70.00). 2 years Guide & Inform Basic for £76.00 (was £120.00).

Security & Service Plus £55. Not sure if this is for 1 year…

Probably more fun is that ultimately the whole thing will stop working because VW give up supporting it or the built in E-Sim simply stops working because the mobile network is obsolete.

Going forward this sort of thing is more likely to end your car than mechanical failure.
