Title: Rear lights replacement.

Hi all

I have a set of tinted rear lights on my mk6 and I want to change back to standard instead of peeling all that awful tint off them, are the rear lights on a GTI the same as all other mk6 golfs?

Yes 2009 - 2012. Originals are Hella and non-LED. Need rhd ones for fog and reversing lights. LED ones need coding.

I'm not sure but iirc the 2009-10 standard GTI non led lights are slightly darker than non GTI ones.

GT and GTI/D (non LED) are slightly darker.

If this helps in your search, here are the part numbers from my 2009 Mk6 GTI's rear halogen lights.  It's a right hand drive (UK) car.

Driver's Side Tail Light: 5K0 945 258
Driver's Side Tail Light (Boot Hatch): 5K0 945 260
Passenger Side (Boot Hatch): 5K0 945 259
Passenger Side Tail Light: 5K0 945 257


I upgraded from the above lights to OEM LED Dark Cherry Rear LEDs (upgraded my BCM at the same time to ensure compatibility due to it being an early Mk6).
