Title: Roof box
Post by: rowlers on 28 June 2022, 11:10
Hiya folks,
I used to have a 660litre roofbox on my Passat Estate, obviously far too big to go on the Golf so moved it on.

What size roofbox do you folks use? What's the biggest I could reasonably chuck on the Golf roof?

Cheers

I was using a Thule Motion XT on my Mk7's.

Probably if you look beyond Thule you might find one a bit bigger.

I'd take some professional advice though over just how big its sensible to be with it, although probably the space between the roofbar mounts will govern what fits in the first place.

I'm not too bothered about getting the largest I can, just something sensible that doesn't look ridiculous on the roof.
Even considered a roof bag now too...
Cheers

Just from a style / economy point of view, don't get a bag. They look rubbish and flap / collapse all over the place when driving around. Less than aerodynamic as well.

I've seen some running around with a 450L box and that doesn't look overbearing.
