I’m having trouble sourcing any Michelin Pilot Sport 4S in 225/35/19 XL 88Y .
Are these being phased out ? Are the 5s’s inbound soon?
Best I’ve found is Costco at about £157 plus £9 fitting each. I’m not a Costco member though but May have to join up unless I can find a better deal.

Look at above thread. J

I got the 235's from Formula 1 online then fitted at local depot.
You won't be disappointed

I had a quick look at a few tyre websites yesterday when I had a quiet few minutes before mowing my clover and moss patch (some people have lawns, I have something downgraded from that!) and you’re right. In that size there seems to be a dearth of choices now. Not just a lack of Michelins but a lack of many choices.
A pain in the derrière if you just want one or two tyres but a good excuse to get 235s if you want four.
Even in 235/35/19 the PS4S seem to have gone up £20+ a corner since I bought mine 16 months ago.
-
I like the idea of the 235’s but the problem I have is that I’m just looking for 2 fronts to replace some old
Budgets that came with the car. The rear has 2 decent 225/35 PS4s’s. I may have to stump up for Costco membership as they’ve the best deal I’ve found so far.
-
MC, in your position if you are considering going for 235 all round at some point, i wouldn't feel too bad about running them on the front for now. Audi have run slightly wider fronts on the RS3 to reduce understeer from inception.
The only issue is the 225 rears may well outlast the new fronts as they (the rear tyres) do far less work.

Evergreen 4 in 1 for the lawn! Works wonders

Or get a firm in. We had moss, clover and dandelion patch at our previous house. We had a lawn care company that came round and treated it with potions every 6-8 weeks or so for £20 a visit.
-
Just treated with 4 in 1 yesterday. Not as satisfying as finding ps4s though.
-
They are French so we can't rule out a strike as a possibility, I noticed the shortage started about April time.
-
Evergreen 4 in 1 it is then :afro:
I’ll wait until the clover has finished flowering first as the bees seem to like it.
I’m far too stingy to pay someone £20
-
The 4 in 1 will probably cost £20 depending on the grass area but only the once this year!
-
£10 in Sainsbury’s, I’ll go sparingly!
Easier to find than a pair of 225/35/19 Michelins…

Have tried the Michelin Super Sports… best ever!
-
Super sports not so good in the wet as 4S’s.
@Exonian - you can go to Costco as the guest of a member.
If you’re in Derby I’m happy to get you in.
I think the Michelin cashback promo is currently running as well. (Although they still might not have any in the correct size in the Michelin warehouse)
-
Thanks JMS but I’m not actually after any tyres just yet.
Unfortunately my nearest Costco is about 100 miles away in Brizzol and Derby is probably another 100 plus on top of that but I do very much appreciate your kind offer.

I’ve bought a couple of Conti Contact Sport 7 from these guys but here is the PS4S link https://www.mytyres.co.uk/rshop/tyre/Michelin/Pilot-Sport-4S/235-35-ZR19--91Y--XL-DT1/R-380160
I went for the Conti because of there wet handling, eta face it it’s usually wet here 🤣 https://www.tyrereviews.com/Article/2022-Tyre-Reviews-UHP-Summer-Tyre-Test.htm
Tyres come from Germany direct, mine arrive Tuesday and I’ll get them fitted locally, mate has a tyre shop so will fit, I didn’t buy from him as it’s taken 6 weeks so far and will be another 5 weeks and I needed now. PS4S he said he could get next day but wanted to try the Conti.
-
Why not share details of your mates tyre shop then?
if he can actually get correct size MPS4S’s you may be able to get him some customers, (with a couple of beers in return)

Tadworth Tyres Surrey. Mine are 235/35ZR19

And my Contis arrived today plastic wrapped by DPD direct from Germany! Look really nice and will be on in the morning 😁

It'd be very helpful if you would let us know how you get on with the Continentals. My Pirellis are not a million miles off replacement.
-
I'd be interested to know what you think of the 235 over the 225, since they're cheaper than the 225 and offer more protection.

Same here. Very interested on your views in due course.

Contis fitted today and started raining but only a short trip of 1 mile from fitting to work. Also found that one of my alloys has a small crack so that will get welded next week 🙄
I’d be interested to see too how they handle, although I still have PS4S on the back end with about 3.5mm on so in the next 2 months will replace. Front end grip will be great and back end has a tendency to keep going straight in a fast corner so without a new full set on might be hard to see a massive difference but if all reviews are to be believed then they should be good.
I can’t comment on the difference between 225 and 235 as I’ve never had 225 or 18’s fitted. Always been 19’s.

So I popped back in with a work vehicle and funnily enough the Conti Rep had been in and when asked why I got tyres online and he as a tyre company couldn't the rep just shrugged and said none in the country and just so happens to be some somewhere in Europe!
The SC7 I bought online I looked again and they are £2 cheaper and have a voucher code now making them £141 each! Going to buy two more and leave in shed until the old PS4 are worn enough, which will be a few months.
Those that want PS4s still https://www.mytyres.co.uk/rshop/tyre/Michelin/Pilot-Sport-4S/235-35-ZR19--91Y--XL-DT1/R-380160 look for the 5% off code too, currently £164.39 free shipping but why would you if SC7 so much cheaper and have better reviews and ratings! and the 19's in 225...very expensive https://www.mytyres.co.uk/rshop/tyre/Michelin/Pilot-Sport-4S/225-35-ZR19--88Y--XL/R-339146 compared to SC7 https://www.mytyres.co.uk/rshop/tyre/Continental/SportContact-7/225-35-ZR19--88Y--XL/D-125191

Just bought another 2 for when the rear need changing, hide in the shed

So far so good. Road noise actually seems quieter, when in coast mode and windows open it’s sound very quiet. Ragging a bit in the dry so far nice and grippy. Main thing not been able to try for which they are highly rated for is the wet, not rained since had them fitted lol
