I know should really matter getting a gti and worrying about mpg and how much miles what you get out a tank. Coming from a S3 with average of 28 mpg and 350 miles a tank. What you guys getting? Hopefully a fair bit more then s3?
-
It depends hugely on your typical usage. Most of the time my car is used for short trips, short commutes. I have pretty low mileage racked up. MPG for that kind of use isn’t good. Mid 20’s average. But I did take a long round trip over the weekend, mix of motorway and A roads and it averaged about 37mpg on that.

Get about 34 tootling around locally, about forty down the motorway and the best I ever did was 50 down the motorway taking it super easy when fuel was short! Booting it its just over twenty.

I agree with Joe and Fred.
Mid 20s for short journeys around town, high 30s for longer journeys and motorways.
Low 20s if you drive like a madman (which I don't)

Sounds a lot better then s3, what does your car estimated range after a fill up
-
It depends how you were driving in the previous 30 miles or so but mine usually shows between 370-420 when filled to the brim.
-
I’ve seen it as low as 280miles after I just filled it up and then let the mrs drive it and it comes back showing it’s got 320miles left.

Same here. I don’t really hold back too much and I’m seeing an impressive 32mpg average. From experience with the same style of driving in previous hot hatches I only expected mid 20’s at best.
Mine shows about 315 after a fill to the brim (super unleaded I should add…. Without starting the debate again 😬). Like all new cars, it’s typical modern “smaller” tank, I’m always amazed with how much diesel I can get in to my partners 2010 Astra, that fuel tank feels relatively massive nowadays.
-
My average was always around 26mpg, I decided to drive carefully for the last 4 weeks just to compare and doing the same journeys I’ve now managed 41.2mpg.
Fuel range changed from 280/300 to 470.
But it’s very boring driving that way!!

My worst was 24mpg, and best was 51.4mpg. The lowest being short journey around town area, the best was a 100mile journey down the A1 from Nottingham to Hertfordshire recently
