I'm guessing there's probably a v good reason that someone will point out to me very quickly here (?)
I went into town early yesterday evening and parked in my preferred (quiet) car park. When I came back to the car a (nearly new) Polo GTI had parked one (empty) space away from me, reversed in like me. The Polo had the option 18" Brescias fitted and it was the first time I had seen my car (20 plate 7.5 Golf GTI PP DSG) with its 19" Brescias parked next to a Polo with the 18" version.
This made me wonder why I had never seen any Golf GTI owner fit a set of the 18" Brescias (if they preferred better ride comfort etc) - I am guessing its because the fit is diff and it wouldn't work? Or is there actually no particular reason why this could't be done?

Yes, you’re guessing correctly - the fit is s different. The Polo has a PCD (bolt pattern) of 5x100, so the 18” Brescias that are available on the current model Polo GTI wouldn’t fit the Golf which has a PCD of 5x112.

I wish Brescias were available in 18". I prefer 18 for comfort but the brescias are beautiful alloys.

There's a company called CM wheels who do replica wheels they do 18" versions on the Clubsport style wheel. When I had my golf R alot of owners were buying the replica pretorias as they where meant go be stronger than oem.

Brescia alloys are quite heavy though. I believe the 18” version on the Polo weigh around 12kg each, so the 19” version for the Golf will weigh at least as much.
