Title: Changing variable to fixed servicing
Post by: Tallpaul on 12 February 2022, 16:49
Ive just bought a GTI registered in June 2021 which has covered just under 5000 miles. The service indicator is showing 10,800 miles/381 days to the first oil change. The build sticker states QI6 so it appears to be set to variable servicing.

As I have 2 free services (and I prefer more regular oil changes) can I request this be changed to a fixed interval?

To answer my own question, I’ll put the car in for a service at 12 months old (I won’t reach 9,800 miles before then) and at that point the service schedule will changed to fixed intervals.

mine won’t be either especially it was last seen heading to a body shop on a transporter after almost all of the passenger side was damaged when someone crashed into me. 🤕
Are you going for a oil change service first?

Yes definitely will have an oil change, and what ever else comes with fist service(which i guess is not a lot)
