All my recent VAG cars have had sat nav with google maps whereas the GTI CS from what I understand doesn't. Are google maps only available on the upgraded infotainment system or just not at all?
Can OBD11 or VDCS resolve the issue?
Android auto solves the issue however curious as the standard maps look circa TOM TOM 2005.

VW dropped licencing for Google Eath maps circa 2013 - my 2014 Mk7 with NavPro didn't have it - they had just dropped it quietly without telling anyone...
Now its use android auto or apple car play if you want it - which to be honest is a better solution.
Nothing wrong with the built in maps though tbh

Thanks Fred. Our 12 month old Touareg black edition has google maps which got me curious.

I should add that my 2014 GTD was SUPPOSED to have it, but they took it away before I got it... VW told me what happened to the licence... didn't offer me money back I might add!
