Not the news we all want but 2022 production for VW Uk is no nearing 90% for combustion engine cars.
ID3 and ID4 are now full for 2022…..
We have been advised to suggest Q1 2023 delivery for any fresh factory order 😩

Tbh it's been like this for a while... A year wait is typical. Make your mind up and wait or buy an over priced second hand car...

If that's the case then I'll just keep what I have for longer. No point rushing to part with my money if those that supply can't supply.

Yeah I get that. But imagine waiting a year for something with dodgy software and VW levels of arrogance customer service.
Hopefully by then VW will have solved the problems.

With regards to the factory closures…
Golf was closed for 2 weeks, it has now reopened.
Tiguan has been closed for 2 weeks and will remain closed until further notice.
ID has been closed for 2 weeks and will see some of the lines return next week.
I think from this news we can expect to see Golf and ID delay a couple of weeks, if they haven’t already, Tiguan is a bit of an unknown but would certainly be careful quoting lead times for current or new orders.
Production in Q1 was down 31%
Production is Q2 was expected to be down 20%, but with main suppliers in Ukraine it is expected to be down 30%

What’s the lead time likely to be on these?

We are being advised these will be 20-24 weeks however given it’s the facelift version which hasn’t been available to order for very long this will be a block of cars already with build weeks but at this stage we don’t know what build week.
You will need to be flexible on colour choice as it will be a case of each fleet business partner will be allocated a selection of cars and there will be no ability to spec amend them at all.

Presumably you're only in the market to lease rather than sell incoming cars following your change in career?
I could be in the market for a GTI or R very soon. If buying I would be likely looking to stay under that luxury VED threshold, but could be willing to dip my toe in the lease pool for the very first time too.
