Hi all,
I noticed after some heavy rain over the last few days that there is water ingress in the light bar unit on the right hand side of the front grill. This is just restricted to the right hand side.
This is more than your usual VW LED condensation it would appear. Just wondering if anyone else has seen / heard of similar issues with MK8s?
I will monitor it over the next few days but I left the lights on for 30 minutes earlier and left the car in the sun but it is no better than it was early this morning.
Thanks

Wouldn't be happy with that, get it back to the dealer to sort

Indeed. I will keep an eye on mine now, for sure.

We had torrential rain last night and I was out in it. The light bar is clear of moisture. I would have thought it would have been like yours if this were to be normal.

Have contacted the VW dealer. Will report back once it gets booked in. The fact that it has only happened on one side too suggests it definitely isn’t normal. I’m aware of one other case of someone experiencing the same on their MK8 R.

A member over on the mk8 R also reported a similar issue.

Dealer is replacing the front grill.

Is the light bar part of the grill?

Yes, all an integrated unit.
Should just be a relatively simple screw off and on of the grill.
