Evening all, got round to changing the alternator but run into some troubles, the alternator isnt a problem.. that has been swopped and we have got the alt belt on too, the trouble is coming to the power steering belt and trying to get it on, we have undone everything that could possibly give some slack to getting the belt on... am i missing something in particular, i can see something moves near one of the pulleys but i think time may have had its way with and make it sticky ...
any tips or advice much appreciated.

Asked the same thing when i did mine :)
OK, looking from the front of the pump, on the right hand side to the top is a hole/gap, there a bolt down there! get an extension on your socket and un do the bolt then it should all go loose!
be carefull putting that bolt back, don't overtighnen it!
That one got me scratching my head for 3 days!

the way i was told was to just prise the fecker on with a lever. the guy who told me to do it this way was a vw mechanic for 15 years, is now an mot tester and runs his own vw tuning company!!! it works!!
