Title: Help with new Golf
Post by: mhr1972 on 20 July 2021, 18:49
Hello all, just come back to a Golf after a year gap. Just bought a mk7 GTi CS, but would seem it has some hidden issues!!  So after some assistance please. Looks like the ACC module is incorrect and i suspect from another car. The original loom wire to the ACC is 6 wires, but a badly connected 4 wire(leaving 2 wires loose) has been connected to the original loom to connect to the incorrect ACC module?

Of course ACC inoperative.

Looking to purchase back an ACC module and find the correct,6 wire loom connector.

What module part number would a 2016 Golf GTi CS have?

I would image i need it aligning, but thats another day after sourcing the parts.

Thanks.

I did yes.   It didn’t look like this the wire. It was all neat & tidy. I didn’t check cruise though on inspection.

From memory a brand new acc unit is about £800, that's what I was told when mine got mullered by a pheasant. This may have been for the sensor, fitting and calibration as the actual sensor doesn't appear that expensive. And yes the surround is missing to which is coppers to buy in comparison.

Is your CS Manual or DSG?

If it's DSG then I'd recommend letting Volkswagen fix it, given it's a safety feature as well as works with the ACC. Although if you're local to VW Retrofit in Redditch they'd be able to help you out.

It is a CS edition 40 and have Alex at Reditch doing some bits soon, so was going to get him to re-calibrate. But the physical purchase of the equipment, i was going to do.

Thx.

Thank you. That interesting, so the plug to the ACC is correct?  Wonder why hacked about and why the loom has 6 wires, but only 4 coming out of that plug??

5Q0907561H seems to have 6 wires.

3Q0907571C seems to have 4 wires

I am removing the bumper again on Tuesday as i have an adaptive light issue, which i will start a separate thread for and check the part number & see if VW knows which one i should have?

Thanks for all the support.

Just had a look at the workshop manual for the MK7 & 7.5 Golf...all 6 wires in an 8pin connector

They did swap the radar unit from the old domed style to the flat square style but that was much earlier in the MK7 build..like early 2014ish...

Also the radar units are on the component protection ring. So any unit that is a replacement will need the car connecting to the FAZIT systems to remove & recode the CP to allow the new unit "on"..

Basically that there is a bodge job...
