Hello there
I'm a new member - so if I've posted in the wrong place - I apologise in advance.
Front wishbone-rear bush: The bolt going into the chassis is partially stripped - I discovered this as I was told that the bushing needed replacing to stop the infernal knocking - has anybody had this problem before? is it just a case of finding someone to run a tap through it from above?
HELP!!
I'm not always in the forum - so if you have a top tip can you email me(see below)
cheers

If it is only stripped and not sheared off I think VW do a slightly larger bolt which will fix the prob :)
If the welds have given way & it's just spinning, then you'll have to cut a hole in the footwell!
If you lift the carpet there is a round blanking plate, remove this then cut downwards a little. Then you'll need to weld a replacement nut in there, weld the hole back up & rust-proof the area.

its not spinning - it nips up but I dont think its taking up all the thread - what there is of it anyway. I'll give VW a shout and badger them about the longer bolt. the last thing I want to do is cut a hole in me footwell!! - its only 2 weeks old!!
cheers for that fella - here's to the end of the infernal knocking!!
