Looking for some fuel figures from Gti drivers as thinking of buying new car. Have been running diesel Golfs, Jetta and current motor is Tiguan R-line. So need some input from GTI mk8 drivers as VW stating approx 38mpg.
Thanks in advance.

The official figure for manual is slightly lower than DSG.
My experience of DSG and mainly taking it easy is that short local journeys are about 30mpg and longer motorway runs is 42mpg.
Its about 20-25% more expensive than the two GTD's I had before.

I get about 33mpg (8.5lt/100km) on mine in city driving with traffic lights start stops etc
and about 37mpg on country roads. In highway if you stay below 75mph (120km/h) you can achieve 40-43mpg.
In real world conditions combined fuel consumtion on my gti is about 5mpg higher than my father's 2.0tdi dsg tiguan

I recently picked my new MK8 GTI up from Scotland and travel back down, which was 200 miles. Granted most of it was on a motorway and sat at 70 mph but it was reading mid 40's. I have a small commute to work about 3 to 4 miles and its saying 33mpg - 35mpg on each trip.
