Ive managed to secure a 24 hour test drive with a Golf R, I tried a CS and R a few weeks ago back to back but was only for around 20 mins in each car, so didn't give us much time, so will be interesting to have it for longer and drive on the roads we use the GTi on

Well done! I know someone who has had a 24hr test drive of a CS but not an R. For the infotainment alone it’s a really good opportunity but the idea of trying it out on familiar roads is perfect.

Yes really need more time with it, does anyone know how to turn the Traction Control off?, and also engage launch mode?

I think traction control is in vehicle then brakes but that’s only from videos I’ve watched.

Menu, vehicle, exterior, swipe left to the second page, click brakes.. Its there.
There is a shorter method but you need to setup the shortcut.
Personally, i wouldn't go messing with esc on a test drive, but each to their own.
You'll definitely want to disable lane assist. Click the end of the left stalk, press OK on the right hand set of steering wheel buttons. Easy.
