Post by: Tornado red gti on 10 April 2021, 19:27
Hi has anyone else had problems listening to music through apple car play, everything’s plays but annoyingly there are slight pauses in music (almost like needle jumping on a record, remember them)

Wireless carplay or wired? Where is your music coming from? Spotify?

I use CarPlay all the time, wirelessly with no issues.

It actually did seem delayed/hesitant if you like when connected via usb.

Which software version is your mib unit running? That is quite important at the moment for determining faults... And they all have faults at the moment.

Hi have checked the software it’s 1666 have tried to update the software but it took ages and nothing happened will ring my local vw dealer tomorrow and see what they say

No you can't upgrade the software yourself, its a dealer job.

Whether they will do it is entirely random though.

There is at least one newer version I am aware of, 1668.

Whether this fixes it is questionable.... I have the 1668 version but I don't use carplay myself

There has been at least one forum member who got upgraded from 1666 to 1668, but like I said, you need to not ask directly for it, tell them about the particular problems you have and let them work out if they need to upgrade...

Its really frustrating!

Even more frustrating when I tell you that 1668 breaks somethings and that 1671(I think) is around the corner and that maybe does Nav in dash as well as wireless Android Auto...(maybe AA isn't something you need) and possibly fixes bluetooth connectivity issues.

Just a thought might try to use cable instead of wireless and see if the problem persists

I often use the cable and I’m sure it still does it on occasion.
I’ll test it further this week.
